Kitchen Treatments for Acne

The Ultimate Skin Smoothie

This delicious smoothie made from summer fruits has a healthy dose of the nutrients your skin needs: beta carotene and vitamins C and E. Just combine the ingredients and puree until smooth. If you don’t have all the ingredients, replace them with other fruits and also try adding yogurt.

½ cup mango

½ cup diced papaya

¼ cup apple juice or orange or cranberryjuice

1 teaspoon lime juice

1 teaspoon sugar

¼ cup crushed ice.

 

Tomato Mask Treatment

Tomatoes contain lycopene a natural antioxidant found in tomatoes. When used in a facial mask, lycopene also helps balance the skins pH and improves ruddiness, while fruit acids exfoliate the skin and get rid of excess oil.

To make one mask:

1 tablespoon fresh tomato juics

1 tablespoon distilled water

2 tablespoons cornmeal

1 tablespoon green clay (or any other type of cleansing clay)

In a bowl, mix ingredients together to form a paste. Apply the mask onto clean skin, gently massaging it into your pores with your fingers. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
